EATUC Secretariat has organized two day Capacity Building  Training of EATUC Youth Committee on the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development Goals and the role of young workers which took place from 13th to 14th July 2017, Arusha Tanzania

The training brought together the leaders of youth committees from six  EATUC’s affiliatesive countries of East Africa

The training was facilitated by EATUC Executive Secretary Sist. Caroline Khamati Mugalla and  Dr. William Tsuma Dialogue Advisor UNDP-Zimbabwe and Lead Partnerships –Youth Connekt Summit- UNDP –Africa

During the sessions participants had opportunity to share experiences from their respective countries but also to learn on effective engagement and participation of young workers on the SDGs. Youth were able to identify among 17 goals which would be priority goals for the young workers and why, what would be the role of young workers in realizing these goals and how the young workers would monitor the achievement of these goals

The Second day the youth had opportunity to conduct their election to elect newly EATUC Youth Committee where by Bro. Festo Mwangimba from TUCTA- Tanzania was elected as Chairperson, Sist. Sylvie Kevine from CESTRAR - Rwanda was elected as Vice Chairperson, Bro. Nelson Nyanga Nthiga from COTU-Kenya was elected as Secretary, Bro.Parfait Ndayikengurukiye from COSYBU- Burundi was elected as Committee In-charge of Gender, Bro.Twaha SSrwadda from NOTU- Uganda was elected as Committee Member In-charge of Organizing, Sist. Nasra Abdalla Omar from ZATUC-Zanzibar was elected as Committee Member In-charge of Education And Training, Bro. Shedrack Sang from COTU-Kenya was elected as Committee Member In-charge of ICT and Publicity
